Web Surfing w/o Getting Caught

Just a few days ago, I started to think something - does the chat or web history used in Steam get saved anywhere?

It doesn't appear so.

So I started thinking - is this the best way for someone to secretly search the web about goofy/forbidden stuff?  Quite possibly!

With any browser, you'll have to physically clear history (or have it set to automatically do it) every so often/every time you surf.  This is not my preferred method because, well, it's just too much work!  Plus, you forget it once, whoopsie.  I also like to have my history so I don't have to type every durned thing in every time.

Chrome, though, has it's incognito mode.  Panic buttons seem to be popular (thanks to Cookie for this link): https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/faminaibgiklngmfpfbhmokfmnglamcm?hl=en&hc=search&hcp=main

Or even a real panic button, the Stealth Switch!  http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/accessories/c8a8/

When you're in a game with Steam, though, you press Shift + Tab and BAM! You are back in a game.  Someone who is trying to catch you isn't going to hang around if you appear to be actively engaged in a game, ROFL.

Once you close the browsing window while you are in Shift + Tab mode in Steam, all of that is *Poof* gone!  Although it isn't the most adaptable browser, you can still watch embedded videos in it.

While you're there, you can browse the steam store.  Even if you aren't a gamer, they have PLENTY of casual games for one to choose from.  If you hang around for a little while, you can even find a game for dirt cheap, since Steam does all sorts of sales from 10% - 90%!
