Las Vegas, round trip ticket, 4 nights, $155.16!!!!
Am I lying in the title? A little bit. This doesn't include the gas money I'll need to drive to the airport, nor the taxi/shuttle to the hotel. With my guess on gas and taxi/shuttle, it will max out at $220 still. It's about 180 mile drive, and taxi will cost about $15 each way, or I have taken shuttles for as low as $8 each way.
Keep in mind that I am a guy so I don't need as much stuff as you ladies
I booked the flight with Allegiant Air. That airline is great for people who are on their 1st/2nd trip to Vegas. They were showing me about 70 different shows they had discounts for, plus they have all sorts of other offers right there on their site. The ticket there was $39.99 and the ticket returning was $59.99. I chose to check no bags (you can pack crazy in to one carry-on, believe it or not), but I did get wild and picked my seating. The prices on their seat selections raged from $9.99 to $14.99. Here's a total list of my fees for the ticket:
"He said only $155.16 in the title!!! What about the hotel?!" I can hear you asking.
Simple. Four nights at the Flamingo are free
How? Total Rewards is Harrah's reward program. For the last 3 years, I've been staying in Vegas for UP TO 5 nights for free! Now, keep in mind that I don't know if I get these rates because I have kind of a decent tier balance (but keep in mind that I still am a Gold, or level one, member), but I guess it wouldn't hurt if you wanted to sign up and see!
Otherwise, staying on the strip still can be pretty cheap. A search on Expedia showed me that I could get those same four nights on the Strip from $68 to $120 TOTAL before taxes and fees at the following casinos: Palace Station, Hooters, Circus Circus, Imperial Palace, Saraha's, Stratosphere, Excalibur, and Tropicana (and this didn't include the numerous casinos on Fremont Street). Each has their own perks...Palace Station offers free shuttle from the airport plus inexpensive buffets, Hooters is the choice for dudes because it does have the best looking staff (which sucks because if you're drunk you might as well just give them your money) and wings for $0.25 from midnight to 6:00 A.M., Imperial Palace always has $5 tables (and last time I was there, pitchers of Coors Light for $5!!), Excalibur has a 24 hour buffet pass for about $30 (and they have an awesome buffet, if you ask me).
So don't say you can't afford a trip to Vegas...the only trick is to NOT spend all your money gambling
I did another blog on things to do and how to get away in Vegas cheap. If you'd like to check it out, click here.
And as they love to tell you in Vegas...good luck!
