Make Your Trip to the Las Vegas Strip Worth Every Penny

This will be an ever evolving page with added tips each time it is updated hopefully.  This blog will highlight how to make the most of your Vegas trip to the Strip!

1.  NEVER pay full price for a show, unless you want to collect points for your rewards cards.  There are the Tickets for Less, 1/2 Price Tickets, and other various discount ticket retailers, as well as ticket offers all over the place.  I spent a couple nights at the Imperial Palace and they gave me a BOGO coupon for one of their shows, Matsuri, which I was able to collect points on.

2.  Text offers.  I wish I would have done this days before I got there.  Most of the hotels have text offers that you can sign up for and get offers through text message.  Most of the ones I've received have been good for up to four days, so sign up a few days before you go.  50% off show tickets, $5-$25 off buffets, discounts at gift shops, etc.  227466 for the Total Rewards Hotels (RIO, CP for Ceaser's Palace, and so on).  50435 with "OFFERS" in the text for MGM.

3.  Need to drink/gamble for free/cheap?  Play Keno.  Even nickel video Keno if you can find a good cocktail waitress and you tip her well.  If you play live Keno, they have games at most places that will take 4-10 minutes to play one round, each round costing as low as a nickel!  I played 200 games and that took over 30 hours to complete, and I did dimes, so that was only $20.00.  The thing with Keno is that you probably aren't going to win, haha.  ALTHOUGH I did play one nickel at a machine at the Venetian and I won $250 with it...not a bad turn around at all!!!  Some of the bars offer free drinks before noon as well, just walk around and look for their people handing out the free coupons.

4.  Some people have debated with me, but I think the 100 oz. tubes are a great deal.  They are a little pricey at first, but refills go for as low as $20, and you can usually add shots for $2.  Why are they good?  They last a couple hours, and you can take them everywhere except for shows and some clubs.  I wander a lot, so I love these things.  I'll probably be collecting them when I move there, so if you'd like to borrow one, let me know

5.  Take a little bit to meander and find out which places have reduced alcohol.  As I type this, the Imperial Palace bars have pitchers of Coors Light for $5.  Since Coors Light is the best beer, that is awesome to me.  Those text offers have given BOGO drinks as well.

6.  Sign up for those rewards programs!  They're free, and they give you lots of free stuff!!  In Sept/Oct, I have spent 11 nights, and paid less than $10/night.  Just for the heck of it, too, I booked a room at the Flamingo in December, 5 nights, for $50.  Of course they usually get the money back in the casinos or other ways, haha.

7.  On my last trip in October, some of the hotel buffets starting doing something I've never seen - unlimited one day passes.  You pay for all day and you can go to the buffet all you want all day, which, if you ask me, is a splendid deal!  I saw them from $25 (Imperial Palace) - $30 (Excalibur).  This would be worth it.  You can do breakfast, lunch, and dinner for around $10 a piece, which is not bad.

8.  There's plenty of free entertainment on the Strip itself.  Lots of it.  Check out this link - http://www.vegas.com/attractions/freeattractions.html - and if you love to people watch, there is PLENTY of it to do there, haha!  Just look for me!  The Lion Habitat is pretty sweet, 'cept the lions are sleeping most of the time.  I like gambling at the tables at Imperial Palace because I've never seen them go higher than a $5 minimum and they have their Dealertainers, which is fun.

9.  When you're down on your luck, remember the other things you can do.  There is a movie theater there, and they do have a Gameworks.  At the Gameworks, they have this Rambo game that is awesome!!!  It's so true to the movie.  You have unlimited ammo and you just blow everything up.  It's SOOO awesome!!  And you might leave that places yelling "TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SPICY!!!"

10.  This is something I love to do.  Take 2 rolls of quarters to the MGM and play their little plastic horse racing game.  If you always bet on the horses with the best odds, those 2 rolls will last you a while, and if you are there with a group of people, you will see them get drunk and everyone will be drunk yelling at plastic horses.  It's hilarious.

I have more, but this is a bunch of it.  If you have any tips or ideas, please let me know and I'll pop them on here so everyone can know.  Hope this was helpful!
