I like writing.  During my two deployments, I have sent nearly over 500 letters!  I like to write every once in a while even Stateside - it gives me time to clear up, reflect, and such.

During this recent deployment, though, I sent well over 100 letters to celebrities.  Unfortunately, a large majority of them were Return to Senders (I highly do not recommend the Celebrity Blackbook because they don't update it very much...I'm sure their site is a much more reliable source.)  I didn't know a handful of those I wrote to had died....YEARS ago!

On my first deployment, some notable responses were Adam West, Pauly Shore, Jim Carrey, Angelina Jolie, Tiffany Amber-Theissen, Henry Winkler, John Leguizamo, Matt Stone/Trey Parker, Seth McFarlane, and Bill Gates.  All of them, at the minimum, sent some sort of autographed photo.

This time around, I sent out a lot more letters, but used a different source (the Celebrity Blackbook), and like I said, had a lot of Return To Senders.  I did get three responses though.  Playboy Playmate August 2001 Jennifer Walcott, Musical Legend Elton John, and Celebrity Blogger Perez Hilton

Perez Hilton actually sent a card with a hand written message, which I thought was pretty sweet.  When the card reappears (I'm still kind of moving and everything), I'll make sure to let you know what was on it!
